Poem: Unknown Title

I found this older poem I wrote and, strangely enough, I can’t remember what—or who—it was about. I thought I’d share it anyway.

You were my first friend

We danced together in that loud room.

I didnt realize then that I would never forget your smile.

I feel I didnt know you well, but I miss you.

You knocked the wind out of me

Brought me right to my knees

Drew the peace from my knees

Drew the peace from my crowded mind.

I know you liked me, but

my love was unrequited

I still think of you but

I never dreamed of you

Perhaps it would have been cruel to imagine.
