About

My name is Nadine. I am a biology student pursuing a career as a physician–scientist, with a long-term interest in diabetes research and translational medicine.

I created Creating My Autobiography as a space to think rigorously, write honestly, and document growth with intention. Much of my work and writing sits at the intersection of science, identity, and long-term ambition — particularly as it relates to research, medicine, and the discipline required to build a meaningful life.

As an international student studying in the United States, I have learned early that progress is rarely linear. My academic path has been shaped by research environments that demand precision, patience, and intellectual humility. I am drawn to questions that do not yield easy answers and to work that requires sustained effort over time.

Beyond the laboratory, I care deeply about clarity — in communication, in decision-making, and in purpose. I believe thoughtful reflection is essential to both scientific inquiry and personal development. Writing, for me, is a way to examine ideas carefully and to translate complex experiences into something coherent and useful.

This blog explores:

  • The MD/PhD and research training pathway
  • Life as an international student in American academia
  • Scientific thinking beyond the classroom
  • Discipline, ambition, and long-term planning
  • Creativity, identity, and personal growth

Creating My Autobiography is not a finished narrative — it is a record of becoming.
